WELCOME to the McClerkin, McClerklin, McClurkin, McLerkin, McLerklin, McLurkin Website! We refer to ourselves as a "Blessed
Family" as we are truly a "Blessed" people. Descending as did most African-American families, from slaves,
our family's origins were typical, but its history has been nothing short of remarkable. Our forebears were God-fearing,
proud and staunchly independent people who inculcated those values and principles into their off-spring; our grandparents,
parents, their progeny. Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt
to record what we have learned and continue to learn about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be
scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even
though we live far apart..
Most of the information in this site was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In
the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever knew and I hope to get to know
all of you!
This web-site is a "work in progress", and I will be relying upon all of you for input, additions,
corrections and support in order to keep our site current and relevant. So please contact me if you have any information that
